The Flier FOR THE SHOW!!!Ok so on the 15th of August is the Emerson show. And it because of my friend Emily Hess this year instead of going to college like a lot of high school graduates, she got accepted into a bridge year program that will send her overseas to live with a family for nine months in a country much less privileged than hers. Shes going to learn their language, their culture, and their way of life. She will be helping with civic projects much like those undertaken by the... Peace Corps. She was also awarded a $27,000 ...scholarship which pays for the entire trip in full.
This is going to be a big challenge for her. Shes never been on a plane and never been out of the country, so the more support and love she gets from her friends and family, the better she knows she can represent our country and the city of INDIANAPOLIS!
This event is a fundraiser for kids like her who couldn't afford the trip. Because GCY is non-profit, they help kids like her by helping Global Citizen Year classes raise money in fundraisers like this one. The door cost is only $8.00, and there will be art on sale from kids at Warren Central like ME!!, as well as free cookies and refreshments! The show is a mixture of genres, so there is something for everyone, below is a list of bands and some people in them, so come out and support!
Doors open at 5:30 on Sunday, so come out and have fun! Invite your friends! And if you'd like to support the cause, but can't make it to the show, ANY amount of donation helps. The goal is to raise $2,000 by August 31st.
